Digital Classroom Terms of Use & Academic Disclaimer

1. Platform status

Digital Classroom is independently developed and administered by Prof. Pankaj Goyal for his teaching activities in the Department of Biotechnology, Central University of Rajasthan.

It is intended to support teaching, learning, course administration, communication, and digital attendance in courses taught or administered by him. Digital Classroom is not an official university-wide information system unless it is formally adopted, designated, or integrated as such by the Central University of Rajasthan.

The Goyal Lab may appear as an academic/laboratory identity in visual branding but is not a separate legal or administrative operator of the platform.

2. Purpose of the platform

Digital Classroom may be used for teaching, distribution of course materials, course communication, digital attendance, assignments, quizzes, discussions, learning resources, academic feedback, and related course-management activities.

3. User accounts

Each account is intended for use only by the person to whom it has been assigned. Users must not share passwords, permit another person to use their account, access another user's account, impersonate another user, or attempt to bypass authentication or security controls.

4. Responsible use

• Do not interfere with the normal operation of Digital Classroom.
• Do not attempt unauthorized access to data or administrative functions.
• Do not introduce malicious software or code.
• Do not misuse attendance or assessment mechanisms.
• Do not intentionally submit false information.
• Respect the privacy of other users.
• Do not use the platform for harassment or prohibited conduct.
• Do not use course resources for unauthorized commercial purposes.

5. Course materials and intellectual property

Unless otherwise stated, educational materials made available through Digital Classroom are intended for authorized educational use. Users should not reproduce, publish, sell, publicly distribute, upload, or commercially exploit course materials without appropriate authorization.

Copyright in third-party materials remains with the respective rights holder.

6. Attendance integrity

Students must record only their own attendance.

• Do not mark attendance for another student.
• Do not allow another person to use your account to mark attendance.
• Do not forward QR codes, passwords, session credentials, or equivalent information for unauthorized use.
• Do not use another person's credentials.
• Do not deliberately manipulate attendance-system controls.
• Do not provide false information to obtain an attendance record.

Suspected misuse may be reviewed by the instructor and may be addressed under applicable academic or University procedures.

7. Technical availability

Reasonable efforts will be made to maintain availability and integrity of Digital Classroom. However, uninterrupted operation cannot be guaranteed. Service may be affected by internet outages, hosting interruptions, software defects, maintenance, Moodle or plugin updates, device or browser problems, or other technical circumstances.

8. Academic-record disclaimer

Digital Classroom assists teaching and course administration. It does not automatically replace formally designated University information systems, examination records, statutory records, official University attendance records where separately prescribed, University notifications, ordinances, regulations, decisions of competent University authorities, or other officially designated systems.

Where information on Digital Classroom conflicts with a formally issued University record, regulation, notification, or decision, the applicable official record, regulation, notification, or decision will prevail.

9. Instructor oversight

Information generated automatically by Moodle does not eliminate academic judgment. The instructor or authorized administrator may review or correct records where there is evidence of technical failure, incorrect submission, authorized absence, verified attendance discrepancy, administrative error, misuse, or another legitimate academic reason.

10. External websites and services

Digital Classroom may contain links to third-party websites, publications, videos, databases, or other resources. A link does not necessarily imply endorsement. External websites are responsible for their own content, availability, terms, and privacy practices.

11. Modification of services

Features, activities, course structures, plugins, or settings may be modified as necessary for educational, technical, security, or administrative reasons.

12. Policy acknowledgement

Where Moodle requests acknowledgement of these Terms, the acknowledgement records that the user has been presented with and agrees to comply with the applicable platform Terms. It should not be interpreted more broadly than required by applicable law or University procedure.

13. Changes to these Terms

These Terms may be revised periodically. The latest version and effective date will be made available through Digital Classroom. Material revisions may require renewed acknowledgement.
